Jim was born in Midland, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government. Jim began his career as a landman at Mitchell Energy Corporation in Dallas, with responsibilities for oil and gas leasing, record checking and title curative work. Jim has been in the oil and gas industry for 34 years. He has vast knowledge of the oil and gas business and a critical understanding of all phases of the oil and gas land work. In 1979, Jim formed Dawson Oil Properties, an oil and gas land services business, which later acted as an independent oil and gas leasing agent for numerous Fortune 500 energy companies. In 2010, Jim moved Dawson Oil Properties to Fort Worth, Texas, where he formed Dawson Energy, LLC. Dawson Energy is a land services company that has been specializing in performing land work in the Permian Basin, Southeastern New Mexico and Oklahoma. Through Jim’s experience in the Oil and Gas Industry and the dedicated team he has assembled, Dawson Energy is poised to become one of the nation’s leading oil and gas land work service providers. In Jim’s free time, he loves to travel and is an avid golfer.
Chris graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BBA degree in Energy Management in 2006. Upon graduation, he joined Sedna Energy, Inc., in Fort Smith Arkansas, as a Landman working in the Arkoma Basin of Oklahoma and Arkansas. In 2010, he joined Dernick Encore, LLC as the Vice President of Land and was responsible for all of the companies land related activities ranging from prospect generation to due diligence and high level negotiations for properties located in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Nebraska.
He is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), the Houston Association of Professional Landmen (HAPL), the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE), and the United States Association for Energy Economics (USAEE).
Mr. Dowdle has spent the last several years as an Independent Petroleum Landman focusing on the acquisition of oil and gas leases, term assignments and mineral interests for various clients in the Permian Basin of West Texas. Mr. Dowdle had a successful career in the telecommunications business with a primary focus on site acquisition and development, his telecom career included 11 years with Crown Castle USA the largest telecom tower owner/operator in the US. Prior to his telecom career, Mr. Dowdle spent 18 years in the Oil and Gas industry primarily as an in-house Landman with various energy companies, his career in the Oil and Gas industry included District Landman positions with Exxon Company USA, Energy Reserves Group, Inc., Grace Petroleum Corporation and MWJ Producing Company. Mr. Dowdle received a BBA degree from the University of Texas at Austin in the Petroleum Land Management curriculum and has maintained a Texas Real Estate Salesman license for the past 20 years.
Mr. Thomas “Tom” W. Parrish has been in the Banking business for over 40 years. He has served as CEO of three different Oklahoma Banks and on the board of The State of Oklahoma Banking Commission.
Mr. Parrish has extensive community service having served on the boards of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Integris Health Systems, Last Frontier Council of Boy Scouts (as President), Omniplex Science Museum (as President), Oklahoma Banker’s Association, as President of Rotary Club and numerous other civil organizations in Oklahoma City.
Mr. Parrish is President and Owner of BancSource Capital Advisors based in Oklahoma City. BancSource is an investment and merchant banking firm that serves the energy, industrial, real estate and medical industries nationwide. Mr. Parrish has unique experience in all of these industries having served of bio-medical startups as CFO and having personal real estate development experience on his own account.
Mr. Parrish has served on numerous corporate banking boards along with several publically traded corporate companies.
Mr. Parrish resides in Oklahoma City and has grown children, a daughter and son. Mr. Parrish is a devout member of All Souls’ Episcopal Church and serves as the outreach chairman.
Johnson has been in the oil & gas business since 2007 where he started working for Twin CitiesDevelopment in the Barnett and Haynesville Shale plays. He quickly became manager of a Haynesville team of 40 Landmen in charge of leasing, record checking, and title curative. In 2010 he was hired by Chesapeake Energy Corporation to work in their Business Development department where he primarily focused his efforts in Oklahoma. He was tasked with buying working interest in wells, leasing mineral owners, gathering well data, and expanding his network and knowledge of the energy industry. In 2013 Johnson moved to Dallas to work for Matador Resources Company. At Matador he helped manage the Acquisition & Divestiture, andBusiness Development roles for the company. At Matador his focus was on the Permian Basin, Eagle Ford Shale, and Haynesville Shale. In 2015 Johnson decided to go out on his own to become an Independent Landman spending most of his time in Midland, Texas helping on title and leasing projects. In 2018 Johnson met Jim Dawson in Midland where they decided to join forces to take on various projects within the Permian Basin. Jim and Johnson’s vision is for Dawson Energy to be a nation leading oil & gas land and title company.
